For two and a half years, Swizzle Gallery brought two dozen exciting shows to Toronto, Canada. Dubbed "The Place For Pop", Swizzle specialized in exhibiting the most exciting and vibrant work curators Rob Elliott & Christine Cosby could track down. Almost as reknowned for its boisterous opening parties as the quality of its artists, the gallery's closure in July 2002 was remarked upon by Eye Weekly as one that would leave the city "a whole lot less colourful" (July 18, 2002). Documentation of exhibitions vary in depth. In particular, the majority of 2000 files were lost in a burglary. Information will continue to be added as it is unearthed in the Swizzle files. |
