1. Spring greetings from Swizzle Studio

Longer and warmer days mean more activity for Swizzle Studio. Christine Cosby and myself are in a pair of massive group shows in the next two weeks. Later this spring, we're going to use the storefront studio to show the projects we did over the winter, 28 Clowns Later and Power Portraits 1965-1989.

I have a several illustration and design projects I can't wait to share with you, but I'll have to wait until their official launches later this spring. To keep up to date on the latest Swizzle Studio projects, check in on http://swizzlestudio.ca or our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/groups/8846375766/

Cheers,
Rob Elliott

2. Super Trash Show this Friday

Rob Elliott has created two large gouache-and-ink drawings for the Super Trash Show. Gas Station Raccoons and Ravine Opossums are inspired by Rob's youth growing up in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The Super Trash Show features dozens of artists, including Swizzle alumni Freshdiscoporkergas and Mister Hyde (Spring Fever show, Swizzle Gallery, 2002). This event will feature a trailer park built in the centre of the sprawling Super Wonder Gallery, super trash costumes, and big crowds of art lovers. Super Wonder Gallery's Christian Aldo always puts on a great show, so don't miss this!

3. Christine Cosby and Rob Elliott in Small Feats

Christine Cosby and Rob Elliott are taking part in the Niagara Artists Centre's annual fundraising art sale, Small Feats. Over 150 original works will be for sale, with the proceeds split between NAC and the artists. Much more than a regular exhibit, Small Feats is an exciting event with smartly-attired volunteers ringing in the sales and catering from St. Catharines' dining institution The Office.

Every piece is $200, every piece is one square foot in size. Note that buying or upgrading your NAC membership will give you first crack at the art.

4. 28 Clowns Later

During the month of February, Christine Cosby sewed 28 panels depicting clowns. The project is a riot of ideas and colour all made from a huge pile of fabric scraps. You can view 28 Clowns Later in the online gallery below. We will show the works in the Swizzle Studio space at a to-be-determined date later this Spring.
