1. Farewell to Monkey Mondays

After eight years and over 300 drawings, Rob Elliott is putting the weekly drawing e-mail project Monkey Mondays to bed. The final drawing will be emailed on Monday, September 8, 2008.

"I think I've exhausted the theme. Fresh ideas just aren't coming anymore, so it's time to shut'er down," says Rob.

The original drawing are carefully numbered and archived, in case a book project materializes somewhere down the road.

All of the Monkey Mondays drawings will continue to be hosted at http://www.monkeymondays.com/previous.html

2. Rob Elliott at Queen West Art Crawl Outdoor Art Show & Sale

Rob Elliott will be selling paintings and drawings at the QWAC Art Show & Sale next weekend. There will be plenty of work for sale, at attractive prices. Look for the candy striped cart in the north east corner of the show, near the tennis courts.

3. Fake ID at Scotiabank Nuit Blanche

Fake ID, a new installation by Swizzle Studio, is inspired by a 20th century dodgy fake ID trick that kept many a second rate photographer in business.

From dusk until dawn on October 4, an oversized drivers license will be spotlit in Trinity Bellwoods Park. Members of the public will be encouraged to have a friend take their photo in front of the licenses. Swizzle staffers will offer instruction cards for making their own fake ID card from their digital photographs.
