1. 10th Anniversary Exhibition & Sale

POSTPONED until Autumn as the exhibition space is not ready for hanging.

In 2000, Rob Elliott & Christine Cosby opened up Swizzle Gallery on a bedraggled stretch of College Street. As if proof of our lack of gentrifying prowess, the block continues to be a battleground between Vietnamese pho joints and Portuguese sports bars, and the old Swizzle building is clearly some sort of shady front (unless you believe the tea shop that never opened and the architect firm that never opens are legitimate businesses).

We shut the gallery in 2002, but continued to work and exhibit under the Swizzle Studio name for the rest of the decade. Now that we have resurfaced in Toronto, we intend to occassionally mount exhibits in our new storefront studio space. But before we can do that, we need to make some room.

In June 2010, Swizzle Studio will open its doors for a retrospective exhibition of Rob Elliott's works. This will include paintings and drawings exhibited in Ottawa, Milwaukee, and Vancouver, but never seen in Toronto, plus works from the Swizzle Gallery years. We will also be showing and selling works by Swizzle favourites such as Kenn & Dave. Posters and t-shirts will also be available.

Prices at this exhibition will be very favourable. There will be preview days for buyers, where they can puruse the large quantity of work. There will also be a five-alarm opening party, just like Swizzle Gallery was famous for.

Details will follow as we get closer to picking an opening date.
